Title : Senior Systems Sales Engineer
The Senior Systems Sales Engineer is responsible for driving technical service resolution and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through providing pre- and post-sales technical/functional support to current and prospective customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
In this key role, you will perform the duties such as, Prepare and deliver detailed product demonstrations and technical presentations to current and prospective customers and business partners. Requirements Analysis and Qualification of opportunities for IT product solution fit. Set and manage the customer's expectation levels regarding product solution(s). Answer detailed technical questions in support of Sales Reps and/or current and potential customers. Support Sales activities on a technical level at trade shows and conferences. This includes assisting with planning and presenting of demonstrations. Work with sales team to analyze and respond to RFXs (Requests for Information). Maintain an advanced business and technical understanding of products whilst working in a team environment.
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of Sun Solaris support, core file analysis, shell scripting and system administration, jumpstart, ZFS, solaris 10
  • 5 years of front line Customer Service/Field Engineering support
  • 3 years of third party partner management
  • 5 years of Project Management experience, to include system implementations, relocations and enterprise hardware/software upgrades
  • OEM Certifications (in any or all disciplines - Sun, IBM, HP, Dell, EMC)
  • Deep working knowledge of development and infrastructure process lifecycles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong general consulting/project skills (ability to help clients define requirements, write statement of work, project management, scope control, risk management)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects from requirements gathering thru implementation
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Basic financial skills - understanding of depreciation vs. expenses, plan vs. actual. Demonstrated Ability to produce cost-benefit analysis and/or ROI reports
  • Broad technical understanding in infrastructure disciplines including Servers (Intel/Opteron/SPARC-based), OS (Linux, UNIX, Windows), and Networking
  • Three or more years of engineering, integration, and operations experiences with large-scale datacenter implementations of SAN, NAS, or direct-attached storage systems where experience with Sun, Hitachi or Network Appliance storage
  • Bachelor's degree in related field plus 10 years of experience in a distributed UNIX environment and/or equivalent.
